Why Do People Fail in Online Businesses?

You see all the ads on the net about how easy it is to get an online business going. You get excited knowing that soon you’ll be quit the 9-to-5 and take pleasure in telling your boss to take a hike. Then, you sign up for whatever was being touted, crank out the credit card, download the product or information and give it a go. A month passes by, and you don’t even remember where you put that information. It’s collecting cyber-cobwebs.

Does this scenario sound all too familiar to you? Many people experienced this several times and have just given up with the belief that you just can’t make money online. So why do people fail when trying an online business?

Listen, if making money online were truly that easy as all those online marketing mavens claim, we’d all be doing it. The point is, just like anything else, you get out what you put in. That’s not to say there aren’t people who are putting in a whole lot of useless time, yet they still are not getting what they were hoping for. It’s just that if you work smart and be persistent, you can make the claims work.

But how do you work smart? How do you know what works without shelling out a whole lot of money on a whole bunch of useless or dated information? The truth is, you’re going to have to do a bit of trial and error. You are going to have to spend money to learn the business. But there are ways of going about this that can drastically reduce the cost and time. Here’s one tip, the next time you are getting ready to whip out the credit card on some digital document, stop and ask, “did I read the last one I purchased, all the way through?” If you answered no to this question, then my suggestion would be to go back and read it again. By the way, do you even remember where you saved it?

I do believe there is a lot of junk information on the internet today. But I also believe that there is valuable information that can help get you further along in your online business. I think however, after purchasing many ebooks, my biggest acceleration for my online business occurred when I signed up for online coaching. When you read a digital document, the biggest drawback is when you run into difficulty or have a question. More often than not, the authors of these digital docs have not given you a facility to contact them and discuss your situation. Coaching gives you the ability to get the help you need quickly and helps you focus on tasks that are important while reducing (or eliminating) the unimportant or useless tasks. I know what you’re thinking, “coaching sounds expensive.” The answer is it can be but it doesn’t have to be.

You can get a feel for what’s good and what is not be researching online. Join worthy forums and blogs (those that frown on posting ads) and ask about the various coaching programs you find. A simple Google search can also help you determine if there are complaints about one program over another. Be cautious about review sites as they are fronts for sales pages, although they still may be worth reading through as sometimes they give more insight than just a standard sales pitch. Above all, if the coaching program is worth anything at all, it should have a money back guarantee. If you truly find that it is not working for you, get your money back.

To put my money where my mouth is, I am an extremely satisfied member of the Wealthy Affiliate University. It’s not just coaching but includes awesome keyword tools, web page builders, free web hosting, article writing tools, plus an incredible forum. The forum alone would be worth the cost of membership. I have tried other coaching programs before and can tell you that Wealthy Affiliate University is simply the best.
