Wealthy Affiliate?the Truth Behind the Program

With so many new people looking to the internet as a source for new income opportunities, the distinct need for quality educational program has also grown.  For most new entrepreneurs and business owners galloping online, it is learning how to market their product or service effectively that will make all the difference.  One community known as Wealthy Affiliate, has focused on educating those who choose to give the world of affiliate marketing a go.  With an emphasis on “making that first dollar online”, their founders Kyle and Carson (they go by their first names) have managed to build a relatively large community.  But, what is the truth behind the program?

What does the program offer?

Wealthy Affiliate has been built as a community designed with the intention of offering those who are new to affiliate marketing tools and education to help them get started.  It also looks to offer seasoned affiliate marketers a place to enhance their knowledge, become certified or specialized in specific niches within the marketing world, and give back by adding content to the program.

A $39 monthly membership, scheduled to be increased within the next month or so, will give you access to training modules focusing on pretty much every area of internet marketing available to affiliates.  They also offer a keyword research tool, which lists not only search volumes, but also ranks the keywords for use in article writing vs PPC. The membership also includes access to an article editor, and a forum.

What’s the bottom line?

While the concept is very interesting and quite appealing, the organization of the educational material can be a bit confusing.  Someone just starting out will not only feel extremely overwhelmed at the amount of information to which they are directed, but the tools offered will bring very little consolation, since they represent yet another piece of the puzzle they need to figure out how to assemble.  New members receive little to no direct guidance, and there is no real mentoring, since you never have direct contact with your sponsor.

Seasoned affiliate marketers might find Wealthy Affiliate of greater value to them, since it does offer some tools to expedite and improve certain aspects of the research and marketing processes.

All things considered, Wealthy Affiliate is not a bad program, it just needs to be updated to become more user-friendly.  Also, member contributions should be more closely monitored and catalogued in more narrow terms.  It is not uncommon to find competing viewpoints presented side by side. This practice only confuses the new marketer even more.
